Paso Robles Restaurants

Whenever my friends and I go on trips, finding the best restaurants is a priority. From michelin star restaurants in Peru, to street carts in Thailand, we want to try it all!  As much as I think Yelp can sometimes be unfair to small businesses, it is a good indicator of whether a place is worth considering. Instead of looking at yelp for restaurant advice, I just ask the locals. The locals always know the best places to eat in the area, whether it’s touristy or not. Here are the places I ate at in Paso Robles, all recommended by the winery locals.

The hands down, best place to eat for dinner is Hatch Rotisserie & Bar on Park Street. We were recommended to eat there by a local winery, and we loved it so much that it has become our go-to dinner spot everytime we're in town. The drinks are all delicious and unique, and the food is all speciality items. My go to favorites are the shrimp and grits, the pork shoulder, and the hot skillet cornbread. The menu seems to change seasonally, so just ask the waiter for recommendations and you won't be disappointed!

Another unique and delicious dinner spot I recommend is The Alchemists’ Garden also on Park Street. Usually when I eat out with my friends, we order family style and share everything so that everyone can try it all! I recommend the deviled eggs, the coffee rubbed skirt steak, the croquettes, the duck wrapped dates, and the bone marrow. They even offer a shot to drink from the bone marrow which is always an added option!

The last time I visited Paso Robles, we stayed longer than one night. My friends and I booked reservations at Les Petites Canailles and WOW were we blown away! LPC is a French restaurant with exquisite small plates that are to die for. If you're open to trying new things or enjoy exotic cuisines, this is the place for you. I highly recommend their steak tartare served with a side of toasted bread, seared duck breast, and grilled octopus. I'm not usually a fan of octopus because of the chewy texture, but this octopus was like butter and melted in your mouth. What an experience!

For brunch on the way out, I highly recommend Taste! Craft Eatery for brunch.  They offer an assortment of items that you can mix, match, and create your most tasty combination ranging from unique sliders, to omelets, to mac and cheese, and even salads. You can pick and choose up to three items and eat whatever you desire. Add a bloody mary on the side and you've got yourself a party for breakfast!

I'm sure any place you eat in Paso Robles is exquisitely flavored and I can't wait to try more places in the near future!
